People want to integrate work and life for a variety of reasons that
change over time and span the lifecycle. In the past, people assumed
work and life had to be strictly divided. But this is no longer true.
Both men and women are realizing how possible it is to have meaningful,
satisfying work as well as meaningful, satisfying lives outside of
work.
This section of the website is designed to
give you a picture of how people are redesigning work to create
more time for family, community and other life passions....you will
find stories ranging from a grandfather who eased into retirement
from running an architectural firm by caring for his baby grandson,
to an accountant who negotiated with her managers to make time for
her creative writing. Our goal is to present a variety of perspectives
on how parents have creatively set up their lives to care for their
children, and more!
